How do you get this free phone, you may be asking.....
Well, all you have to do is be on welfare, get food stamps or be on some other type of government support program.
Yes, you heard me right. They are now giving f**king cell phones away to people on welfare.

Now this pissed me off people. Why the HELL does the government think we should provide cell phone to people on government assistance? Seriously. If they are going to start giving cell phones away to people for doing nothing but sitting at home collecting money from the government, why am I even working everyday?
And YES.....I am aware that not all people who receive government assistance are lazy no good assholes. I AM NOT RETARDED, YOU KNOW. I am aware there are people out there who need this service and will not abuse it. I am talking about the millions of people who do abuse the system and will abuse this. YOU KNOW I AM RIGHT ABOUT THIS!!
I went to the website and took an extended look. Apparently, for $5 you can get 500 minutes and for $20 you can get 1000 minutes AND 1000 texts.

Seriously, this is f**ked up. I could maybe get the argument that someone in need would need a cell phone in emergency situations, but TEXTING?

Okay, it is totally decided. I am going to quit this business and become a bum. I am going to get all my groceries paid for, I am going to apply for housing assistance, get a portion (usually 75%) of my utilities paid for, and get a new cell phone. Then I am going to sit on my ass all day and blog and watch Jerry Springer while waiting for my welfare check.
I hope y'all really do love me, because you may be seeing a lot of me around these parts when I quit my job and begin the next phase of my life - BUMHOOD.

Grrr...In the labor dept. I work in we see this shit all the time. People who have government health coverage and drive Escalades and make sure to have an $80 vagina waxing before coming in to deliver. I think we should cut most entitlement programs(except Medicare...I love old people)
Wow. Just....WOW. There really is no middle class or 'working class' anymore.
There are the rich ones. And the ones who get assistance with EVERYTHING.
Just what I want to see, more waste of my tax dollars.
I have friends who are legitimately in need of welfare. But you know what? I think we should get rid of all social welfare programs, except for things that assist elderly, disabled, and children. Seriously. Programs that provide ESSENTIAL services (health, dental, prescription, personal care items, etc) only to those who need to have it. There is too much free loading happening and it sucks that it would ruin it for some, but seriously. It's time people learn to manage their fucking money, get second jobs and get their budgets under control. Matt and I get NO assistance, even when we really needed it but shit- we did it. You know how? You eat ghetto, you walk to work/take a bus, you wear second hand stuff, and you buy no extras. It can be done.

You life of bumhood sounds a bit like retirement. I hang around the house watching The View (I don't particularly like Judge Judy) and wait for my pension check to show up. Now if I could figure out how to be eligible for food stamps and energy assistance I'd be home free. I still need to upgrade my car to an Escalade so I can drive to the free clinic.
Mobile phones were designed as a tool of trade --- connectivity. Again, tool of "trade." Someone in the government has actually stopped thinking and has been on brain "parked" for the last several months. If you are on welfare, what is your "trade"? Dang it!
I'm all for extended social welfare -being somewhat of a lefty- but no-one needs -Needs- a cellphone.
